Christmas Memories: Merry Christmas!
Day 25 of 25 Days of Christmas
Even though we ended up with a High Wind Warning on Christmas Eve, Santa and his 8 tiny reindeer were able to make it through and visit our house this Christmas. Shawn had us up at 7:30am and that’s different than past years. We usually have to wake him up but with him not being able to sleep last night, I had a feeling he’d be the one to wake us up. We’ve finally reached this stage. lol
Once again, my photos aren’t the greatest because I am living in the moment and not focused on taking photographs. I get what I get and I move on. The above photo is my personal favorite from the entire day. It was Shawn’s last gift from us and he got a Lego Train. As he was opening it up, he said “Now that’s what I am talking about!” LOL
We decided that we were going to be doing a “no toy” Christmas this year. So that meant he was only getting games, puzzles and activities. In my opinion, Legos aren’t toys and my definition of a toy is something that you would throw into a toy box. Just to clear things up there… He also got a Lite-Brite, board games and some smaller things too. He totally didn’t notice the lack of “toys”.
Michael loves Dr. Who so when Shawn and I found this Tardis Cookie Jar at Barnes & Noble, we just had to get it for him. It makes noise when you open it up. He was in his glory with it and said he’s not using it for cookies but is going to store other things in it. Whatever… lol
I don’t always get into great photos on Christmas Day but I am glad that Michael thinks to pick up my camera and take a couple shots that include me. Here is am “playing Santa” and passing out the presents.
We go over to my Mom’s house for dinner and exchange presents with them too. That’s always a crazy time but it was nice to see my sister Jessica and her boyfriend Derek (again, because we see them on Christmas Eve too). Overall, it was a terrific Christmas and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. 🙂
Also, I want to thank you all for sharing this month with me! I made it through all 25 Days of Christmas posts and I hope you have enjoyed all my craft projects, recipes, memories and more. I will be taking a break for about a week while I finish up planning Shawn’s birthday party. I hope you all had a great Christmas and the happiest of New Years. This is part of the 25 Days of Christmas Series here at The Weekend Housewife.
