Cousins Day 2015
The Summer Challenge: Day 20
Today is National Cousins Day, so I thought I would share some of my favorite photos of me with my cousins, and of course Shawn with his. 🙂 I have 7 cousins in my family but I don’t have photos of some of us together. (Once I get some, I will add them to this post.) Most of us don’t live very close to each other, so we don’t see each other often but when we do we always have a great time together. Shawn has got 6 cousins as well. We see most of them often so there are tons of photos of them together. These are just a few of my favorites.
This is one of my most favorite photos! All of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We were so small here!
From left to right: Marie, Me, and Katie. We always had a blast when we got together. My cousin Marie now lives in Florida with her husband and daughter. I haven’t seen her (in person that is) in a long time. Since we were kids actually. Katie doesn’t live too far from me and I see her about once a year. She lives with his husband, and their dog.
Here we are again – this time we were at my grandparents house.
We must have been celebrating someone’s birthday party. I am in the middle and I laugh so hard at the cheesy smile on my face. lol
Here’s a couple photos of Marie and I as babies. (I am on the right) She’s about 6 months older than I am. Katie is about 4 months younger than I am too. Just in case you were wondering.
I don’t want to forget my other cousins: Dan, Heather, Collin, Tim, and John. They all mean so much to me too. I really have a special relationship with all of my cousins, and I am so glad that I got to grow up with them all.
Here’s a group photo of all of us. There have been 2 more kids added to this bunch since this photo was taken. Some of them are my step family, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love them all just the same.
I love this photo of the kids. Left to Right: Jordan, Tyler, Shawn, and Lucas. The boys are all 6 months apart, and Jordan was 4 years old here.
This was Easter a few years ago, and we had a big Easter Egg Hunt. We tried to get all the kids together for a group shot. This was the best we got. My cousin Tim and his wife, Melanie at the time had 2 kids (they now have 1 more). We try our best to get together as much as we possibly can. Sometimes we go a lot longer than I would like, but that’s just life.
Here are the three oldest together at a Labor Day party (2011) at my dad and step mom’s house. I love how Jordan is cooking on the grill and feeding Tyler and Shawn. 🙂
Jordan is my sister’s daughter, and we do a lot more with them than all the other cousins in the family. Because of that, I have a ton of photos of them together. They are super close and even though Jordan is older (and sometimes gets annoyed by Shawn), they love each other like brother and sister. I am certain that they will be friends for life. 🙂
It’s so great to look back and see them grow up together. I know that they will cherish the memories that they’ve made together.
Here’s a photo of my sister Jennifer and I with both kids down by Olcott Beach. We love to just hang out with each other.
Here they both together when Jennifer and I took them to Niagara Falls. Still as close as ever (and yet the squabble about stuff; just like typical kids.) Cousins are like siblings and are a treasure to have in your life. I am so happy that Shawn has cousins nearby that he can grow up with, just as I did.
(In case you’re wondering… Michael does have cousins too but I don’t have any photos of him with them. In case I come across any, I will add them here too!)
