National Ice Cream Month
In honor of National Ice Cream Month, I thought I would share with you one of the very 1st themed parties that I hosted at our home. Who doesn’t love ice cream? I know that I certainly can’t get enough of the yummy treat! This was pretty early on party planning, so it’s not the greatest table setup or photographs but hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right? I was trying to go for a more retro feel to the decorations, so I stuck with red, blue and stripes of course. I had lots of balloons tied to the railing on our deck and also took red plastic tablecloths and made a bunting to around it too. It looked super cute and very festive!
As for the ice cream, it was the theme of the party and we had a ton of it to go around! The guests had to each bring their favorite flavor of ice cream and I provided them with 12 different toppings! We had everything from Crushed Oreos, Gummy Bears, Whipped Cream, Sprinkles, Chocolate Sauce, etc. You name it – I had it!
I even had a station for Root Beer Floats! The cute ice cream cone cups were a great Dollar Store find! I got a lot of funny looks when I came up to the register with 20 of them in my cart. I had a lot of people coming to the party and didn’t want to be short (what if everyone wanted a float at the same time, ya know?)
The party just happened to be the day before Michael’s birthday, so as a surprise, I had a couple birthday decorations and the guests brought him presents and we all sang Happy Birthday to him as he blew out candles in his ICE CREAM CAKE of course! It was a super fun party and all of the guests had a good time.
